New Year, New Look

Its been a while since the last post due to the looming deadlines of launching the new site.   Things are looking good and its always the small little things that really chafes me and the team.  I'm proud of the team and the work we have done during the holidays.  On the road I remember pulling out the laptop and staring at the iPhone in random wifi hotspots much to the chagrin of my girlfriend.

DIY

If a 6 hour drive through the winter wonderland of the Interior BC Mountain range in the company of a blowing snowstorm sounds fun, we're going to get along just fine.

There is nothing like making an homage to the places you lived and reconnecting with friends and family.  I'm on my way back to Edmonton to see my family and the town of Banff just happened to be on the way.

My friends in Banff were throwing a holiday get together with a DIY secret Santa exchange where all the gifts MUST be handmade.

Picture frames made from wild twigs, custom made cookbooks, handcrafted handbags, scarves and even a ingenious drug stash made for a true feel good Christmas party.

Noel Turning Back

I have just plunked down good coin for my girlfriend's brand new snowboard.  It was an early holiday gift; it feels good to contribute to someones happiness.  She has been staring at the thing ever since she got it.

There is however a difference between the wants we all get on Christmas compared to the needs of the people that are less fortunate than myself.  I feel that this important contrast gets lost in the holiday shuffle.

Ashley and Sarah have been working with me on this idea that can finally redeem all the words that I have typed.  A chance to give back to those in need.....

Peek Season

Ask anyone of your friends how they are and your sure to get a 'busy' response.  I don't think anyone is really devoid of the holiday spirit but rather pre-occupied with bigger things in life.

The holidays just come and pass at a blink of an eye.  The world has less than a month to get everybody on the bandwagon before New Years is around the corner.  Which makes it so important to spread the season spirit as quickly as possible...  in most cases a simple smile and kind gesture will do.  The trick is to warm yourself up enough to make a difference beyond your circle of family and friends...
